What the Trek?

Race around for a good cause

The nighttime is the right time for many things, but running a race is not generally among them -- until now. The Twilight Town Trek takes the concept of an evening race to the next level, combining it with a scavenger hunt, obstacle course, and strategy game (like a Phoenix version of The Amazing Race). In this urban adventure, the two-person team must be both physically and mentally superior to win.

As competitive as racers may get, it’s meant to be fun for people of all fitness levels. Teams can travel by foot or public transportation; whichever gets ‘em to the next destination faster. Challenges at each destination could be mental or physical, and there’s even an award for best costume.

The trek takes off from Local Breeze. Teams race from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. with a post-party to follow. A portion of the money benefits the Arizona Humane Society.
