Some would cite self-mutilating Van Gogh or Salvador Dalí (who admitted to dressing in a king's robe and pushing a kid off a cliff as a five-year-old) as proof that craziness and creativity go hand in hand. Others argue that artists just have wild imaginations.
Thats the idea behind the group exhibit Reality Reimagined. The group show features Christy Puetzs whimsical dolls called Secrets, which carry an elaborate backstory revealing just how fine the line is between imagination and insanity. The Secrets are little runty beings that spend their time wandering through a silent and desolate landscape collecting and hiding secrets," she explains in an artists statement. They cannot share these secrets so they store them in the horned capsules atop their heads.
