The matchup between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the New York Mets is a good chance to rediscover a part of yourself that you might have lost to time. You may have forgotten, but the New York Mets were the most hated team in Arizona for a couple of weeks back in 1999. A lot of time has passed, but these Mets look a lot like that hated squad. They wear the same uniforms. They’re both led by prominent base-stealers (Ricky Henderson in ’99, José Reyes now), and they still have a star third baseman (Robin Ventura then, David Wright now) powering the offense. When the teams take the diamond at Chase Field and you feel your bile rising, you’ll know that you’re finally whole again.
