Valley filmmakers screen their two-day masterpieces

To the lazy minds behind Anheuser-Busch’s marketing, weekends were made for Michelob. For small armies of Phoenix filmmakers, weekends were made for making movies. The Beat the Clock Summer 48 Hour Film Challenge Screening collects the works of those who braved searing temperatures and sweated out creating a short film in one weekend.

Sponsored by the Phoenix Film Festival and the Independent Feature Project of Phoenix, the screening celebrates the films that were created just last weekend in a 48-hour fit of creativity from Valley film directors, producers, editors, writers, actors, and crewmembers. As quick as the films were made, the celebration is even quicker -- from appetizers and toasts to start out to the screening of the rushed works and finally ending with the presentation of awards for various achievements, the night is a truncated Oscar season.
