Ant Misbehavin'

Comedian rides the American Dream to Scottsdale club

Though we’re certainly not optimists, we have some good news: the American Dream is not completely dead. That’s because standup comedian ANT, who’s worked his way to (or, at least, near) the top against incredibly long odds, is living proof.

The 42-year-old comedian spent the better part of his twenties working as a flight-attendant before moonlighting as a stand-up funnyman. After losing his job and kicking around comedy clubs for several years, ANT received his first break as a recurring character in the ‘90s sitcom Unhappily Ever After. When that show ended its run, he hit the stand-up circuit for a few years before making it onto the first season of NBC’s Last Comic Standing. From there, ANT never looked back – he became a fixture (and eventual judge) on the show, and parlayed that fame into regular appearances on The Tonight Show and a gig hosting VH1’s Celebrity Fit Club.
