Remember those glorious days when you and your friends would stay up until the wee morning hours having the best existential conversations over a hangover-relieving cuppa joe? Perhaps that was back in college, before you gave two shits about things like job security, health benefits, and sleep.
Or maybe it was last night. "Some of the best conversations happen over a paper cup of coffee," says Tempe Center for the Arts Gallery Coordinator Michelle Dock. That fact inspired the center to host a free coffee-and-conversation series held in conjunction with their exhibits.
Catch the next Paper Cup Exchange from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, August 5, at TCA, where coffee and light nibbles will be served. Past exchanges have included guest artist lectures, an illustrators' panel, and a presentation by animator Chuck Jones' grandson. In keeping with the gallery's current Cars & Guitars exhibit, the August event will feature local acoustic guitarist Justin Olsen and a display of sweet low riders and pimped-out bicycles by United Car Club.
