ASU West presents flick on food issues

According to Michael Pollan's eaters’ manifesto, In Defense of Food, we are fast becoming a "nation of orthorexics: people with an unhealthy obsession with healthy eating." All fatalism aside, the weekly ThinK Series presents the filmmaker Ana Sofia Joanes' documentary Fresh. Inspirational and thoughtful, Joanes focuses on influential farmers, grocers, and city gardeners sharing their personal epiphanies and drive to inspire others to follow suit. ASU West's New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences hopes to forego what we see as inevitable for this nation of lazy asses by basing a freshman reading project on Pollan's book and hopefully opening a dialog among those of us hungry for change.
