Epically Epic Epic

Ancient Indian tale is brought to life

“Epic” is so overused nowadays. Yes, that sandwich is big (no, it’s not epic.) Yes, FailBlog is funny (but not everything is an epic fail.)

Want something truly epic? Then check out South Mountain Community College’s Storytelling Institute “Myth Informed”.

For the past 30 years, fifth-generation Californian Cathryn Fairlee has traveled the world bringing tales to life. Tonight, she’ll tell the story of the Mahabharata, one of two major Sanskrit epics of ancient India. In addition to chronicling two warring families, the death of Hindu god Krishna, and the rise of Kali, the Hindu legend is rife with philosophical tenets and includes the Bhagavad Gita.

In other words, some fairly epic stuff.
