And how could I forget tamales? Chicken mole and red beef versions were fragrant and moist, with a savory-sweet dynamic that had me licking the plate. The good thing is, they're also available uncooked and frozen, by the dozen.

I just ate at La Tolteca for dinner, and I still smell like La Tolteca. all of the menu items mentioned are great, but the true gem are the grilled shrimp tacos :)

something else that's great about tolteca - it's a delicious mexican eatery that vegetarians have options at. before i returned to omnivore-land, i loved the potato tacos, the nopal tostadas, the veggie burrito, and lots of other stuff here.

La Tolteca is great, and it's one of the few places to serve nopales, or cactus pads. The nopal tostada is worth trying sometime.
