The Oakland Raiders have been arguably the worst team in the NFL for the last seven years. Plagued by a series of terrible draft picks, ill-advised free agency signings, and mediocre head coaches, the Silver and Black have averaged just 4 wins per season since their loss in Super Bowl XXXVII. This seasons Raiders harbors some talented players notably cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha, running back Michael Bush, and tight end Zach Miller but the Raiders still dont appear to be a particularly good squad.
They are, however, an excellent measuring stick for other teams.
When the Raiders roll into University of Phoenix Stadium they figure to give Arizona Cardinals' a good idea of how good (or bad) the Red Birds are. If the Cards cant win their home opener, it might be a long year for Arizona.
