Moving-and-shaking queen speaks at ASU

Whom to turn to for answers on solving the state’s current economic woes? How ’bout none other than locally charged scene queen Kimber Lanning?

The prominent Phoenix record-store owner, founder of Local First Arizona, and recently appointed director of the City of Phoenix Development Advisory Board will be sharing solutions for a more fiscally fit state in her upcoming pep talk, “The Upside of a Down Economy: Buying Locally,” part of the Seeking Justice in Arizona fall lecture series at ASU.

“Buying locally creates a sustainable economy,” Lanning said in a recent interview, “and that’s the green way to live.”

Hear Lanning’s lecture at the ASU Memorial Union, Turquoise Room (Room 230).
