Suns open regular season against (grrr) Kobe and crew

The NBA landscape has changed considerably. LeBron James left Cleveland (relegating the Cavaliers to also-ran status) and joined Miami (elevating the former also-rans to title contender status). Carlos Boozer joined the Bulls, and the Phoenix Suns replaced Amar’e Stoudemire with Hedo Turkoglu.

Of course, the more things change, the more they stay the same. On Friday, October 29, the Suns play their first home game in the post-apocalyptic NBA against the same Los Angeles Lakers team that bumped them from the Western Conference Finals last year. The defending-champions are virtually unchanged from a season ago which, for Suns fans, means that the presence of the L.A. Kobes at US Airways Center will be every bit as detestable as it was last May.
