In the wake of the surviving Led Zeppelin members' reuniting in late 2007 for a one-off performance to honor the late Atlantic Records head Ahmet Ertegun, many believed that a full-scale reunion was imminent. Drummer Jason Bonham, son of late Zep skinsman John Bonham, played behind his dad's old crew that night, and was more than willing to take the show on the road. Word has it that the tour was all but routed, but soon Robert Plant was off recording with Patty Griffin and Buddy Miller, while John Paul Jones and Jimmy Page busied themselves with other projects. Bonham then decided to take Zep's music on the road anyway, seasoned with his own memories of the band and his dad. Therefore, Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience is no cover band it's a son honoring his father's titanic legacy on the 30-year anniversary of the elder Bonham's 1980 passing, which ended Led Zeppelin's earth-rattling 12-year run.
