Pieces of Works

Master students showcase creations

As human beings, we communicate through words, expressions, and gestures; each conveys a message to the outside world. The language of ceramic art is no different, as exemplified by Arizona State University’s Master of Fine Arts candidates.

Head to the Night Gallery in Tempe Marketplace and observe the visual language of some local academic talent. The “Lucky Seven” exhibition showcases functional, irreverent, and decorative works, created in the unique spirit of each student. The list of creation techniques goes on and on, including traditional styles – like wheel throwing and slip casting – to the unconventional Keraflex (flexible porcelain sheets) and even precious metals.

Tuesdays-Sundays, 6-9 p.m. Starts: Dec. 18. Continues through Dec. 30, 2010
