ASU Football gets the goods on 2011 foe

There may be a lot of plotting going on during the 2010 Insight Bowl. That’s because one of the participating squads, the Missouri Tigers, will be back in September to play a what-will-probably-be a huge non-conference game against the Arizona State Sun Devils.

The Tigers (10-2) of the Big 12 -- a conference that may be renamed on account of Nebraska’s departure to the Big Ten and Colorado’s hightailing it to the new Pac-12 -- will get all familiar with the confines of Sun Devil Stadium before its September 10 match-up against ASU. On the flip side, the Devils’ staff will most definitely be game planning for junior quarterback Blaine Gabbert, who will be one of the country’s top signal callers in ’11, as he tries to take down the Iowa Hawkeyes (7-5). Regarding Iowa, last time the underachieving Big Ten team posted up in the AZ for a few hours, they had its hearts ripped to shreds by the Arizona Wildcats during a 34-27 loss on September 18 in Tucson.
