Perhaps you dont care for classical music. A large ensemble of musicians who variously play cellos, basses, oboes, and French horns fails to move you; you dont know what timpani are; cant tell a symphony from a concerto or a violin from a viola. It may not matter to you, then, that the Los Angeles Philharmonic is coming to town, via one of those live-broadcast-in-theaters set-ups that are becoming increasingly popular in cultural wastelands like our own. But how about this: The LA Phil Live: Dudamel Conducts Beethoven concert, simulcast at movie houses all over the Valley on Sunday, January 9, will be hosted by Desperate Housewives star Vanessa Williams.
