Knee-Jerk Reaction

Blazers overcome injuries to become a pretty decent team

It’s almost impossible to bring up the Portland Trail Blazers without talking about what could have been. Portland fans have gotten used to not seeing former top pick Greg Oden sit on the bench. Now, it appears that their star player – 26 year-old guard Brandon Roy – might never be the same after the team announced that there is no meniscus left in either of Roy’s knees.

Despite the misery surrounding them, the pesky Blazers refuse to be written off. In fact, as of the time of writing, Portland will hit the court at US Airways Center riding their biggest hot streak of the season. Thanks to the surprising play of second-year guard Wesley Matthews, the Western Conference foe might be the best basketballers the Phoenix Suns will play this month.
