Following the meeting, the boy's parents "angrily" returned the iPod that Susan Brock had given their son. Fulton Brock took possession of the iPod, the police report states.
At that point, the boy's school, his parents, and the church all were at least suspicious of a sexual relationship between the boy and Susan Brock, and Fulton Brock was aware of the suspicions. However, when she was arrested last October, Fulton Brock issued a statement saying, "Even with this statement, I am not sure how to express what such a shocking emotional punch to your heart and family feels like. I am stunned."
Fulton Brock has since filed for divorce from his wife. Following her guilty plea last week, he continued to deny any knowledge of the relationship.
"My wife was untruthful to me. She was untruthful to the victim's parents. I knew nothing of this inappropriate sexual behavior until the police arrested my wife," Brock says in a statement to New Times. "But I certainly know enough now to divorce her and be the best dad possible to three children who really need me."
The supervisor did not respond to a request for an interview, but his PR representative, Jason Rose, offered the following explanation as to how Brock remained ignorant to his wife's three-year sexual relationship with the son of family friends.
"'How could I have missed all of this' is something Fulton will probably wrestle with for a very long time," Rose tells New Times. "I think the explanation may very well be that Fulton believes the best in people . . . And when your longtime wife and [the] mother of your kids says something so definitively, you believe it."
Susan Brock has pleaded guilty to three counts of attempted sexual conduct with a minor, a far cry from the 15 felony counts on which she was initially indicted. In exchange for the plea deal, Brock will be placed on lifetime probation and faces anywhere from seven to 15 years in prison when she's sentenced on March 16.
Rachel Brock's been charged with three counts of sexual conduct with minor and one count of transmitting obscene material to a minor for her alleged relationship with the boy. She has since been released from custody as she awaits further court action.
Fulton Brock, meanwhile, was pegged to become the chairman of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors, but he removed his name from consideration in wake of his family's bizarre sex scandal.
Looking at her picture, she's another one of those gals with the whites of her eyes on all sides of the eyeball. She's got to be on amphetamines, I don't see how she could do all those things any other way. Newt Gingrich's wife has that same look. Does anyone else think it's drugs?
From what I have read , sexual misconduct & bizarrness is all part of the Mornom legacy. It all started with Joe Smith, pedofile and adulterer. It is NO wonder!
this is the same woman who told my daughter all about sex when my daughter was friends with her youngest daughter. My daughter was eight years old at the time. My daughter is now 17 and just told me about this since all of the Brock news has surfaced. Why she felt it was okay to tell my 8 year old anything about sex, without my permission is unacceptable. She is sick and belongs right where she is!
I wish some older women would have "rape" me when I was that age. There is no way I believe this kid is psychologially damaged over this.
i want to have a three-some with here and her daughter
This is one of the most disgusting things I've ever heard. What is the matter with this family that both mom and daughter are child molestors? If a man had done what these two females had done, he'd be spending life in prison. I hate that women can do this and get much lighter sentences. Why is it not as ugly and vicious to molest a boy as it is a girl? Both these females belong in the deepest, darkest corner of hell.
The mom AND the daughter? I want to see a picture of the 21 year old. Where were they when I was in high school? Lucky kid!
What about the damn daughter who did the same thing. Why is she not in jail...because believe me, if it were reversed and it was a male doing that to a kid, everyone knows what would have happened to him.
This is so not fair here. Great, get the wife, but WHAT ABOUT THE DAUGHTER?
Yup. I agree. Throw her @$$ in jail. And you're absolutely RIGHT. Can you imagine if a father & son did this to a girl...let's say that the girl wasn't 13 when it started (like this boy), but even old...say 16. At 16 some girls are being intimate on their own, but if a father / son treated a 16 yr. old girl like this they would be strung up in the city square. They did not just "have sex" with with this child. They emotionally warped him and abused him. They were mean and scary. The daughter needs to go to prison.
Is she expected to get "jail time." I read she must register as a sex offender, but with highprofile husband will she serve any time? Any answers?
If it's anything like many others who are sitting in Arizona's prisons for decades - essentially life sentences, then she should be treated the same, or the legislators need to correct their draconian laws. If Brock gets 7 years, then ALL other sex offender cases need to be re-evaluated. It takes a person in a prominent position who finally gets bite in the behind with their own laws (meant for "others"), that might finally get the attention for reform. These laws are unsustainable and the state is broke.
It's tough acting like you don't know you wife was molesting a child while passing The Arizona Sanctions Law. Ol Brock must have been too busy making sure no person or persons found those emails between Pearce, Thomas, Arpaio and Hendershot and the LEGISLATURE who forbid that not only his wife, daughter were simply raping the people of Arizona of their dignity, respect, and protections for human life. SB1070 "The Video" was more important than resigning in 2007 when he first found out his wife and daughter were manipulating the mind of a child. It's kinda ironic because it's the same thing that by voting for Employer Sanctions unto you was the same as a sex kit in the back seat of car while walking through the mall waiting for the "force attestation" unto the Brock LDS TEAM GOP Board of Supervisors ended.
I can't believe Susan Brock is getting such a sweetheart deal. I wonder when the victim's family will sue the county and for how much?
7-15 years is an insufficient amount of time, on top of "lifetime probation" and registering as a sex offender. Apparently, Pinal CA James Walsh is all for sweetheart deals.
If I had my way, she'd be doing life with no chance for parole, no lifetime probation, although she'd have to register as a sex offender.
Yes ninjamom, I suspect Fulton knew what was going on and did nothing about it, evn though state law dictates he has to. I wonder when he will resign and hang his head in shame?
lol life without parole? are you serious? i just laughed so hard :p
i could see some type of punishment...but dang. In this day and age, if I see a 14-15 year old boy screwing an older woman (a kid in my neighborhood was with a 38y/o woman a year ago or so) i know its likely consenual. what 15 year old kid wouldnt bang their teacher? or an older woman?
when i think of 15 year old girls being with 40 year old men, thats when im starting to think there was so swindling or brainwashing going on.
even as a boy i woulda jumped at the chance to be with a nice looking teacher at that age...
punishment for the women should be very low and insignifigant yeah I said it lol. its not like they are raping the boys.....you gotta get YOURSELF hard and YOURSELF capable. she didnt FORCE him hard and MAKE him penetrate, keep that in mind mr "life without parole" lol
She *should* go to jail for decades. There is no doubt in my mind that Susan Marie Brock is a dangerous predator. The punishment for raping a child and controlling him through fear and shame should be swift and severe.
I do agree that there are some ludicrous laws on the books, ie: one view of of child porn is a life sentence, but it's only 10-20 if you actually star in the porn with your niece. My take on this is that all sexual predators proven to be a threat to the population must be exiled. I would gladly give the state of Arizona $20 a year in extra taxes to house people like Susan Brock or Jeffrey Van Wagoner for decades.
It's scary especially to someone who has a child of their own.

She is a PEDOPHILE. This boy was raped by her, manipulated emotionally and psychologically. "I'm going to kill myself if anyone finds out.". Who says that to a child? A sexual predator, a soul assassin, that's who. This was no teen boy having a crush on his 23 year old teacher. This was an saggy skinned, stretch marked, raggedy ass vulture, shredding this kid's psyche to give herself thrills.
The plea deal is ludicrous. If this was a male perpetrator there would be riots in the street over it. She's pleading guilty to 3 counts of "ATTEMPTED" sexual conduct with a minor! That's it. Attempt? Really?? There was no "attempt - she violated him. She has shattered his formative teen years, his family, his ideas of what sex is about and replaced it with sickness, deceit, fear and shame. I can guarantee this boy's parents don't consider her 3 year domination of their son - an "attempt".
And what's this with her church? Lord knows, I love me some LDS. Great people, great neighbors - but the fact that they let this go, grrrrr, and that twit of a husband Fulton. He's complicit. The accusations, facts and evidence presented to Fulton at that meeting should have prompted action of some sort. Clearly, he is selfish, thinking only of himself, his comfortable life, his children and his political agenda.
Lord, she needs to be in tent city with male inmates. Bunking up with some BAMF from the Mexican Mafia. She'd be doing more than giving bj's. She deserves a MINIMUM of 15 years; "attempted" my ass.
As a former teenage boy, did she really think there was a future for them when he says, "take me home" after getting a handjob?
Such a shame.......I hope she gets the FULL punishment-maximum. It would be sexist for her not to. Imagine if this was a Grown man and a young female?
This was an ongoing relationship over years -- not a "single" incident of indiscretion where one woman had a single incident and is serving 10 years in prison. Where's the "dangerous crimes against children", this started when he was a "boy"? Wife of a man in a position of trust serving the people.
Everyone else in Arizona is facing decades behind bars:
i.e. 20 child porn images= 200 years and the AZ Supreme Court gave an opinion that is not cruel or inhumane punishment.
Then in an apartment swimming pool: An alleged "touch" over clothing is a class 2 felony = 17 years where one individual is serving 75 years in an Arizona prison for first offense, non-violent, non-sexual "touching" over clothing!
Another man is serving over 600 years.
Unless the legislators put some common sense into their poorly written sex crime laws, then Mrs. Brock should be facing over 100 years!
It time to list the incarceration time all the men and women sex offenders are serving Arizona's prisons. Of course, these "high-profile" cases make the attorneys rich along with all the "experts". What the career points scored over this case. While the "system" plays it's sick game, the reality is that the taxpayers cannot sustain these draconian laws and lifetime probation. Meanwhile the truly violent go free while the much needed resources are wasted on the "society" cases.
