Party Animal

Celebrate The Year of the Rabbit

While the minds of America may never be cleansed of the image of Snooki dropping in a glass ball on New Year’s Eve, they can take solace that the only party animal being celebrated for the Chinese New Year is one with long ears, a puffy tail, and zero arrests for public intoxication.

Highlighting this year’s Phoenix Chinese Week, celebrating the Chinese New Year 4709, “The Year of the Rabbit,” is the free, three-day Culture and Cuisine Festival. Featuring dragon and lion dances, martial arts demonstrations, and a Taipei dragon boat display, the festival also serves up live entertainment, activities for kids, and authentic Chinese cuisine.

Celebrate, sans Snooki, at the COFCO Chinese Cultural Center.

Fri., Feb. 11, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.; Sat., Feb. 12, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sun., Feb. 13, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., 2011
