Living on the Edge

Valley’s top weirdos gather at PVCC

From Dada through the Situationists to postmodern artists of today, avant-garde art takes guts or, as in the case of the Phoenix Experimental Arts Festival, a dozen or so laptop computers.

In its sixth season, the 2011 festival continues to push the boundaries of the cultural status quo with cutting-edge music, modern dance, and multi-disciplinary, interactive artworks. Featured performances by eight arts ensembles and performers include the Laptop Orchestra of Arizona State (LOrkAS), modern dance company CONDER/dance, and a live art and music collaboration from ceramist David Bradley and percussionist Brett Reed.
