Home on the Strange

In filmland, sequels often lay eggs. In the theater, they pretty much never happen. But a couple of years ago, nearly a half-century after he launched his stellar career with The Zoo Story, Edward Albee has written what some are referring to as “the other half” of his premier one-act, and relaunched it as a full-length play called At Home at the Zoo.

The first act, titled “Homelife” (and originally presented in New York a few years ago as a one-act known as Peter and Jerry) is a prequel of sorts that fleshes out the life of one of the two men who meet on a park bench in Zoo Story.
