Sandwiched between Phoenix and Tempe, Scottsdale often looms in the shadows of two cities that are generally perceived as more artist friendly. But who’s buying that art? Where do the folks who appreciate the artists live? Sure, it’s easier to find a cheap beer in Tempe or to find a little bohemian conversation in a downtown Phoenix haunt, but it’s a helluva lot easier to find a patron of the arts in Scottsdale.
