This mind-bending idea is the theme behind “Dis-il-lu-sion,” a group photography exhibit from Arizona State University students including Melissa Ferguson, Caylee Hoover and Sam Root. The show features images produced by gelatin silver, color inkjet and 19th century wet plate processes, each one leaving a little mystery around the subject of the picture.

“In some photographs it is hard to determine the items, yet they still have a quiet sense of beauty,” says organizer and participating artist Angie Williams. “There is an underlying idea of asking the viewer to take a second look and see different human characteristics and truths.”
