In the nearly five decades The Moody Blues have been around, they've sold almost 70 million records worldwide, a pretty staggering number that seems almost incomprehensible by today's standards. But one of the nice things about being a musician before the Internet existed was that people actually bought your music. Combining classical music with rock, the English band set themselves apart from other British Invasion groups. Though the band managed to release 16 studio albums, six live albums, and several compilations over the years, the band is best remembered for their 1967 album, Days of Future Passed. Two songs off that record — "Nights in White Satin" and "Tuesday Afternoon" — continue to be mainstays on classic rock radio. Amid several lineup changes, The Moody Blues have retained original member Graeme Edge and longtime band members John Lodge and Justin Hayward. The group hasn't put out any original material in several years, but that hasn't stopped it from touring around the globe and cashing in on the nostalgia of their fans. —
