Say what you will about Pauly Shore and his marginal skills, but the man definitely has an eye for talent. In 1995, the Encino Man actor plucked Bobby Lee out of the miasma of the SoCal comedy scene to open for him in Vegas. And Lee’s been busy ever since. Even with the numerous TV and films gigs he’s landed, the Korean-American comic -- best know for his eight seasons on MADtv -- still finds time to step up to the mic and spin hilarious tales about his family and how their culture clashes, as well as wisecracks about his ethnicity. (Sample joke: “I tell white people I’m Korean because they like to guess, like it’s a game show.”) Lee comes to the Valley this weekend for a three-night appearance at Stand Up Live, 50 West Jefferson Street, starting on Friday, June 24.
Thu., June 23, 8 p.m.; Fri., June 24, 7:30 & 9:45 p.m.; Sat., June 25, 7 & 9:15 p.m., 2011
