More About

Seattle-based architects Annie Han and Dan Mihalyo counteract this dilemma with illustrations that detach the space itself in the exhibit “Extended Collapse,” part of Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art’s Architecture + Art series.

In one collaborative charcoal drawing titled Under the Surface, a parking lot stretches the boundaries of the paper, with the curb stones and overhead lights normally found in such lots sunken in the center of the page. The result is an unfinished, perspective-heavy sketch that’s not so much deconstruction as it is non-construction.

Wednesdays-Sundays. Starts: June 25. Continues through Oct. 16, 2011
