If it weren't for sex, drugs, rock ‘n’ roll, and a torrid obsession with fire, Detroit's Electric Six would be up a very boring creek. Instead, the rambunctious sextet has made a prolific career of embodying little else but those aforementioned fascinations.

Newcomers would be hard pressed to find a single song that doesn't allude to several lascivious rock clichés, but it's the band's unflinching devotion to having fun that has garnered them an equally devout following. Eight albums in, the mischievous Michiganders have struck an irreverent synthesis of KISS panache, Ted Nugent chutzpah, and MC5 turbulence – “Detroit Rock City” meets “Motor City is Burning” with huge dollops of “Wang Dang Sweet Poontang” thrown in for good measure.
