Music of Lord of the Rings in Concert @ Jobing.com Arena

We're sure that somewhere, there's a Lord of the Rings fan — they like to be referred to as "Ringers," mind you — who is totally comfortable with the opposite sex, doesn't live in his mom's basement, and doesn't spend his days dreaming of Mordor and reciting poems about Tom Bombadil. But for the most part, Lord of the Rings remains the province of the geek. But it takes one to know one, so don't think we're judging when we say that there will be very few middle-of-the road LOTR fans at Lord of the Rings — The Fellowship of the Ring in Concert at Jobing.com Arena this week, where conductor Ludwig Wicki will lead the Munich Symphony Orchestra, Pacific Chorale, and Phoenix Boys Choir through readings of Howard Shore's Academy Award-winning LOTR score. Peter Jackson's adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's expansive Middle-Earth trilogy was visually stunning and featured masterful acting, but don't think for a second that that tear you shed for Frodo and the gang wasn't coaxed out in part by the swelling strings of Shore's soundtrack.
