Party Town

Arizonans have always known how to party -- our first fair was held in 1884, long before our Southwest territory was even a state. Dubbed the Arizona Territorial Fair in those days, the shindig featured horse, pony, and mule races along with exhibits about agriculture and home economics.

Though the state’s significantly grown since those heady days, we still know how to put on one hell of a fete. The Arizona State Fair returns Friday, October 14, kicking off 18 days of outdoor fun that will include a demolition derby, rodeos, a petting zoo and turkey race, arm wrestling championships, plus concerts by Billy Idol, Snoop Dogg, and 3 Doors Down.
