Pattern Recognition

Italian fashion house Missoni’s diffusion Target collection caused nothing short of hullabaloo, overrunning the retailer’s website and stores. The pieces covered in the label’s signature zigzagging pattern proved most covetable.

While Italian-born American fashion designer Giorgio di Sant' Angelo didn’t deal in zigzags, was a textile innovator in his own right. He specialized in knitwear, and was one of the first designers to use stretch fabrics.

His flare for colorful prints with Native American and Bohemian influences cemented his place in the fashion history books next to the likes of Halston and Pucci.
