Travelers frustrated by strict TSA guidelines and expensive luggage fees might admire Winnie Ruth Judd's deranged moxie. In 1931, she managed to travel from Phoenix to Los Angeles toting steamer trunks stuffed with a couple of ex-friends' dismembered dead bodies.

Filmmaker Scott Coblio's Murderess: The Winnie Ruth Judd Story tells the sordid tale of the trunk murders, and screens on the 80th anniversary of the grisly double-murder.

The movie features marionettes as actors, and explores the deadly competition among Judd and her gal pals for the affection of prominent Phoenix businessman John “Happy Jack” Halloran.
