Happy 2012! I hope this year will make us forget about all of the bad that occurred in 2011 and to surpass all of the good that happened. Last year was filled with too much hate, name calling, fear mongering and political insanity. It’s not too late to make Christina Taylor Green proud of us. I wish that in 2012, the politicians that “we the people” elect into office remember Abraham Lincoln’s words that the government of the United States of America is: “of the people, by the people, and for the people”; and not: of the politically powerful, by the special interest groups and for only corporations, financial institutions and the wealthy. The American people have united together for the common good before and we can certainly do it again, with or with out the help of our politicians. I also wish that in 2012 everybody starts not only believing in the “Golden Rule” but living it; and that the goal of this great country should still be the initial goal listed in the Declaration of Independence that all people (no matter their ethnic background, religious beliefs, or sexual orientation) should have the following unalienable rights: “Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness”.
