More About

"I'm always sort of annoyed how people say Phoenix has no history," Anderson says. "I think a lot of it is that people don't know where to look." Those in search of Phoenix's past won't need to seek any longer, because the book, which contains more than 180 archival and community photos, will be available during a signing and release party at the fittingly historic Hanny's.

The paperback chronicles the neighborhood's growth and evolution from 19th century native land to mid-century modern mecca, with a focus on personal anecdotes and lesser-known stories.
