Coincidentally, that mythic creature is also the beast of honor this Chinese New Year and during Phoenix Chinese Week -- a celebration of Chinese culture. The three-day festival begins Friday, January 17, with lion and dragon dances, martial arts demonstrations, musical performances, shopping, crafts, and, of course, food. Visitors are welcomed to sample dozens of authentic Chinese cuisines.
