Avoiding President Lincoln’s birthday on February 12th and having the heebie-jeebies about the 13th, lawmakers rolled with February 14, 1912, as the Grand Canyon State’s official birth date. Starting the party early for the official centennial celebration is Arizona Best Fest on Saturday, February 11.

A full day of mainstage music and entertainment is capped with Sedona-born singer-songwriter Michelle Branch and revered east valley rockers, the Gin Blossoms. The Family Fun Zone provides arts, crafts, and activities for kids of all ages, while the Arizona Wine Garden and the Arizona Craft Beer Showcase put a 48th state spin on 21-plus revelry. Amidst the pavilions and villages celebrating the state’s history and heritage, the official mascot for AZ’s centennial, the Copper Chopper, will be roaring through, too.
