Officially, Major League Baseball has taken a hardline stance against bullying in our nation’s schools, vehemently condemning any form of intimidation and harassment whatsoever. Ironically enough, however, said stance doesn’t seem to apply to the game of baseball itself.
To wit: The Los Angeles Dodgers have become the bullies of the National League West this year and have regularly throttled divisional foes like the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks. During this still-embryonic season, either team have become metaphorical 90-pound weaklings, falling prey repeatedly to beatings by the Boys in Blue.

After drying their tears and licking their wounds, the two slumping squads will face off in a three-game weekday series at Chase Field, 401 East Jefferson Street. Consider it a “battle of the also-rans” where the winner gets the prize of staying out of the divisional cellar.
