Question: What do you get when you cross storytellers with an improv troupe? Answer: An offbeat, unexpected, altogether spontaneous, simply hilarious good time. As much is expected when Jonathan Simon, founder of local pop culture blog Lightning Octopus, teams up with The Foundation, a “supersquad” of improvisation masters, for an evening of wit and reverie in The Neighborhood, an ongoing performance series featuring local art, culture, and music scene guests that's hosted by Torch Theatre.

A self-described nerd, but also well-versed storyteller, Simon will solicit random suggestions from the audience and turn them into impromptu stories. The Foundation then will have the pleasure of quickly acting out these parables. “Come laugh at me,” Simon suggests on his blog.
