You know what? We're pissed. We're pissed that Stephenie Meyer and her vampire romantasy drivel have completely altered the perception of the word "twilight." No longer can we use it to describe that time between daylight and darkness without flashes of Edward, Jacob, and, ugh, Bella. (Note: We don't hate vampire fun. We simply prefer Buffy.) It just so happens we'd like to use the word "twilight" to conjure the scene for the opening of Las Noches de las Luminarias.

You won't find any bloodsuckers of the sparkly-skin or bumpy-scrunched-face variety, but twilight at the Desert Botanical Garden, 1201 North Galvin Parkway, will serve as the backdrop for the lighting of some 8,000 votives inside paper bags, along with thousands of twinkle lights.
