Eigenheer seems as if she'd be content to let the MCAO and attorneys for Winn and Horne work the whole thing out between themselves.
"As far as discovery goes," she tells the lawyers, "if the parties can get together and resolve, specify what the issues are, stipulate to exhibits, stipulate to any allegations . . . any fact issues, that will cut down a lot on our time . . . and I think will be better for everyone involved."
Corruption persists when the public allows it, tolerates it, becomes complacent to it. Politicians such as Horne and their lawyers assume that all they have to do is wait us out 'til we move on to the next outrage, the next travesty. There are so many around here.
The Hornes of the world emerge from the sewer with slaps on the wrist and smiles on their faces. They know they can appeal even the slap and end up with a nudge, at worst.
Shamelessness, in their world, is a virtue.
Karma is sure to catch up to Horne in the form of an opponent willing to throw his state-financed gal pal in voters' faces — and recount the litany of misdeeds committed by the state's highest law enforcement authority.
For that, we'll have to wait about 18 months, until the GOP primary is in full swing.
Assuming, of course, that Horne is arrogant enough to run for AG again, which he probably is.
Both Democrats and Republicans are lining up, licking their lips at the thought of slicing Horne to pieces in 2014 with the contents of the FBI's investigatory file on the AG's shenanigans — which include alleged witness tampering and obstruction of justice, to name but two.
The file was made public by Monty's office in October. Every politician, consultant, and political reporter in town has a copy.
By all rights, Horne should have no more than two years of political life left. But this is Arizona, and one thing thrives in this desert along with cactus and creosote:
Sleaze.
How can attorney Kimmerer represent Tom Horne when he also represents Debra Miller and Horne has power over appealing Milke's conviction set aside by the 9th Circuit?
ALSO, Horne must believe Kimmeer is a good lawyer to have hired him. But he wants to appeal the 9th Circuit ruling in the Milke case and go up against Kimerer in thst one. It makes NO sense???

Arizona's Courts didn't even slap his dirty knuckles even after pleading GUILTY, and infact the Judge chided the F.B.I. "That perhaps they should have gone after Wall Street."

We know 2 facts... Tom was in a hit and run...and Tom lied about it....
Tom is a lawyer who committed perjury...and is no longer qualified to fill a public position of trust.
Horne's Solicitor General, David Cole has resigned effective January 18, 2013. Cole cited his desire to return to teaching at the Phoenix School of Law. He also previously had served as a Maricopa County Superior Court Judge.

@PissOnArpaio really we need to have something more like a special task force just too investigate our politicians here.. It could almost be like organized crime task forces in other states.. follow the money and you find the bad guys.

Again, keep the pressure up Lemons--the only way this mouth breather will get any form of justice is the public kicking is uglyass to the curb. Funny how the AG investigator was under fire for indicting some Phoenix cops for double dipping while on duty i.e., working their shift and hitting an apartment complex for OT while on duty--seems Winn was doing the same ass thing when TommyBoy let her sell his real estate property on State time. Where is the JUSTICE FOR ALL>

Mr. Lemons, you article captures the essence of the stench of Arizona Republican politics, in general, and Mr. Horne, specifically.
Reading the article it occurs to me that the names of Mr. Horne and the local county sheriff could be exchanged and few, if any, would know the difference.
