Photographs made by Allen Dutton have traveled all over the world, but Arizona is still his muse. Dutton works with eight-by-10-inch and 11-by-14-inch cameras and, since the 1970s, he's been on a mission to photograph Arizona "from desert to mountain, from suburb to city."
"Strange But True" is a traveling collection of Dutton's work that will make a stop at Art Intersection, 207 North Gilbert Road in suite 201, through Saturday, January12, 2013. These photographs provide a unique look at the urban and natural landscapes -- intersections, mountains, and skylines -- of Arizona over decades, as Dutton has returned to the same locations to re-photograph views as they change. According to Art Intersection, the images "deliver a look backwards with the message that twenty years in the future we might not recognize today’s familiar views as they are replaced, yet again, by the work and efforts of the next generation."
