Chicano leader and Arizona native César E. Chávez played a huge role in the Civil Rights Movement and forever changed the future of his community in the United States. Chávez organized the National Farm Workers Association, popularized the slogan "Sí, se puede" ("Yes, it is possible"), and became the face of a movement.

It’s no surprise, then, that Chávez captured the hearts of artists around the world and became a muse for politically charged and culturally focused artwork, which is honored this month with "César Chávez in the Civil Rights Movement" at Arizona Latino Arts and Cultural Center's Galeria 147.
