Out of Africa

We won't judge you if you can't locate Burundi on a map. The landlocked eastern African country isn't exactly a top tourist destination. If you're adventurous though, you might be interested to know that The Welcome To America Project is teaming up with Scottsdale chef Josh Hebert to bring a taste of Burundian life to the Valley of the Sun.

The nonprofit organization's Burundian Cultural Dinner will offer diners cultural cuisine as well as a musical experience, thanks to the world-famous Burundian drumming group Komezakorenga. The family-friendly event will incorporate fashion, stories, dancing, and more.
