It's not every day the James Beard Foundation comes to town to gather the region's culinary elite for an evening of food, fun and drink. But that's exactly what's going down the foundation's 10-city Taste America tour comes to Phoenix this week.
On Friday, October 18, the foundation presents the “Best Chefs: Southwest” Benefit Dinner. Guests will get a five-course meal by seven James Beard Foundation award nominees, including Chris Bianco of Pizzeria Bianco, Nobuo Fukuda of Nobuo at Teeter House, Christopher Gross of Christopher’s and Crush Lounge, and Vincent Guerithault of Vincent on Camelback. Every course will include side-by-side tastings of two plates, all inspired by the Southwest.
The evening begins at 7 p.m. with a cocktail reception. The “Best Chefs: Southwest” Benefit Dinner will be held at the The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa, 6902 E. Greenway Pkwy in Scottsdale. Tickets begin at $250 a person. For more information, visit www.jbftasteamerica.org/event/phoenix.
