Few things in this world are simultaneously as sweet, sensual, and alluring as chocolate. Once considered good enough for only Mayan and, later, Aztec royalty, chocolate is now one of the most consumed confections worldwide. That said, this yummy treat is a powerful lure for the annual Haute Chocolate Market and Festival at Heard Museum. There will be chocolate cocktails, chocolate fondue, fruit- and nut-infused chocolates, spicy chili chocolates, chocolate-dipped sensations, and other edibles prepared by local chocolatiers, pastry chefs, caterers, and culinary students. The evening culminates with a tasty fashion show (emceed by Fox 10 meteorologist -- and chocolate lover, we assume -- Kristy Siefkin) with models adorned in chocolate outfits.
Did we use the word chocolate enough (13 times) to get the point? Haute Chocolate runs from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 31 at 2301 North Central Avenue. Tickets are $40 to $75. Visit www.heard.org or call 602-252-8840.
