It’s no secret that Lewis Black has an anger problem. The 64-year-old comedian and Daily Show segment staple (“Back in Black”) is known for his politically charged rants, so full of frustration and biting wit that sometimes it’s difficult to tell which is louder: his yelling or the laughter.
The veteran comic and master complainer takes to the stage with “The Rant is Due,” featuring two shows at the Orpheum Theater on Friday and Saturday night. Expect Black to tackle some of his favorite topics, ranging from the current political climate to technology and anti-Apple complaints to the Super Bowl. And sit a couple rows back to avoid any flying spittle.
The ranting and raving begins at 8 p.m. February 28, at the Orpheum Theater, 203 West Adams Street. Tickets start at $94 for balcony, $115 for orchestra. Visit orpheum-theater.com or call the box office at 602-534-5600.
