Fill in that unibrow, throw some flowers in your hair, and take an elaborate selfie. The Phoenix Public Library is celebrating one of the most sensational artists to come out of Mexico on what would have been her 107th birthday.
The Frida Kahlo Birthday Party will offer music, live dance performances, a Frida-style lotería game, an arts and crafts mercado benefitting The Friends of the Phoenix Public Library, birthday cake, and free Frida swag bags for the first 15 guests who arrive dressed as the artist. Frida’s Party happens Sunday, July 6, at the second floor gallery at Burton Barr Central Library, 1221 North Central Avenue. The Frida-inspired fun runs from 1 to 4:30 p.m. while the "Expressively Frida" art exhibit will be on view through Sunday, August 3. Admission to all Frida events is free.
