You can't always get what you want. But if you try sometimes, you just might find, there's stuff out there for free. And we're not just talking about sample day at Costco or the free disinfectant towelettes at the grocery store. Believe it or not, metro Phoenix has its fair share of free activities that don't just get you out of the house, but rather give you something to talk about. From downtown game nights and poetry jams to talks about taking your work-life balance to the next level, here are our top three picks for free events this week in metro Phoenix.

Wednesday edutalk: Work-Life Balance: Reality? Or Unicorn?

Can entrepreneurs really have their cake and eat it, too? Co+Hoots would like to think so. For the next installment the co-working space's reoccurring edutalk series, marketing consultant Alan Earl is visiting the downtown office to discuss the fundamentals of finding success without letting go of some of the more important aspects of life, like living it. The free talk runs from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. The Yatai Ramen food truck will also be onsite to make sure listeners have a chance to grab lunch. For details, visit Co+Hoots' Facebook event.
