This weekend, Arizona CopperCon: Revolution will bring nerd-culture lovers to the Windmere Hotel in Mesa for the annual four-day science-fiction convention -- but, let's be honest, if you're into that stuff, you probably already knew that.
What you might not know already is that this time around, the event offers serious sci-fi and fantasy fans a chance to participate in an interactive trivia web show hosted by the Land of the Nerds. The winners of the competition will take home a prize pack that includes the six-part Man of Steel 1986 comic series and the Dork Tower series collection.
Interested yet? Because you still have time to enter.
The game show-style competition will pit teams of three against each other with small challenges and in competitions to answer trivia questions over three rounds of play. The winners will walk away with the title of Smartest Nerds in the Galaxy.
This event will be the first trivia challenge hosted by Land of the Nerds, a veteran-run website full of "epic pop-culture, gaming and science." Founder Lyle Dillie called this go-round a "grand experiment," though it sounds like they've got things pretty well-planned. They're ready to set up a full set, lighting, and more for the event.
And in addition to the contest being live at the convention, the whole show will be live-streamed on YouTube and recorded to be put on the Land of the Nerds website. Dillie says he expects to produce between five and six short videos based on the competition and convention. That will include video classes, Dr. Who makeup workshops and robot and sword fights.

"It's going to feel like a radio quiz show," Dillie said. "Except that, of course, this is a live event. This is the first time anyone has done a live TV show at a convention and we're going to attempt to have a really good time."
The only thing required in order to participate in the challenge is a CopperCon membership, which can be purchased at the door and range in price from $20 to $50 for adults. Participants must also be over 16 years old. You don't have to have a team to be able to compete.
