ASU must be confident about its football team, because the athletic department website already has the Pac-12 Championship game listed on the schedule. The Sun Devils five wins justify that confidence, and have made them the prohibitive favorite in the Pac-12 South.
Unfortunately, the Devils two losses are reason for pause. Unforced errors haunted ASU in losses against Illinois and Oregon. Even with a relatively soft schedule, the Devils could find themselves watching the Pac-12 title game on TV if they cant play with more discipline (and fewer dumb penalties) for the remainder of the season.
The Sun Devils will start the second half of their season this Saturday at Sun Devil Stadium, 500 East Veterans Way in Tempe, with their homecoming game against the Colorado Buffaloes. The Buffs are the easiest team left on ASUs schedule, so anything less than a comfortable win could spell trouble.
