At the risk of pissing off that Dos Equis guy, Jeff Bridges is truly one of the most interesting men in the world.
Besides bringing one of the more memorable characters in film history to life with his portrayal of The Dude in The Big Lebowski, the venerated actor is also a photographer, vintner, practicing Buddhist, and philanthropist, as well as a successful musician in his own right.
Last year, His Dudeness nabbed an Oscar for his convincing portrayal of down-in-the-dregs country singer Otis Bad" Blake in the flick Crazy Heart. Armed with rugged good looks and a gravelly baritone that conjures classic Kris Kristofferson and Merle Haggard, Bridges delivered the lead vocals for many of the films score, selling heartache as authentically as any of the lonely troubadours that inspired the film. So genuine was his performance that he signed on with Blue Note Records to do a solo album and has performed in venues across America with his brilliantly named act The Abiders.
Bridges and his backing band will perform on Sunday, July 3, at the Arizona Biltmore Resort, 2400 East Missouri Avenue, as a part of the upscale establishments summertime Hollywood & Wine shindig.
